How much do lessons cost?
$135/month. At the time of registration, the first payment covers your first month's tuition and a non-refundable $50 deposit and then billing is set to a monthly recurring charge. If you need to withdraw, let us know before the first day of the month that will be your last month, and your $50 deposit will be applied to your that month's tuition.
How do private lessons work?
Private lessons are 30-minute one on one lessons of just you (or your child) and the teacher. We will help you find a day/time and you will attend the lesson at the same day/time each week.
Are students required to attend in-person lessons?
No. In-person lessons will be completely optional. You may continue with 100% virtual lessons if that's your preference.
What are hybrid lessons?
It means you have the option of sometimes doing in-person, and sometimes doing Zoom. We know that in-person lessons is the best educational experience, but sometimes it's convenient to have a lesson from home.
Do I have to exclusively choose one option?
No, you can change as needed. If you are signed up for in-person lessons, and perhaps are feeling ill, have a conflict or can't get to the studio that day, just give us a call and let us know that you'll be virtual and we will tell your teacher to log onto Zoom. You can resume in-person lessons the next week if you'd like.
Does Bucktown Music offer performance opportunities?
Yes! We know that it's so important for students to have the opportunity to show off their hard work, and that family and friends love seeing them shine on stage. We have historically held 3 yearly recitals in the beautiful Fine Arts Building downtown. During the pandemic, we hosted a variety of virtual recitals and had people tune in from all over the globe. As of December 2021, we have returned to in-person recitals following recommended health guidelines.
