We have missed you at our studio!
It's been 6 long months since we've welcomed anyone into the studio, and we are beyond thrilled to offer a hybrid lesson program starting September 14, 2020! Students who choose this option will have 2 in-person lessons at the studio and 2 virtual lessons per month. This allows us to limit the amount of people in the studio and still give you in-person instruction. Instead of the usual 4-5 teachers present, only 2 teachers will be scheduled in our largest rooms on a rotating schedule. Please read below to learn more! Are students required to attend in-person lessons?
No. In-person lessons will be completely optional. You may continue with 100% virtual lessons if that's your preference.
When will in-person lessons start?
We expect students to be able to attend in-person lessons starting Monday, September 14th.
Will all teachers be available for in-person lessons?
No. Some of our teachers have special circumstances and health issues that prevent them from providing in-person lessons but will still be available and committed to offer virtual lessons of the highest quality. If you prefer in-person lessons and your current teacher is unable to come in, you may choose to switch teachers.
Will all instruments be available for in-person lessons?
No. Voice and wind instruments will remain virtual only due to the higher risk associated with those instruments.
What about social distancing?

What about social distancing?
- Face coverings or masks will be required for teachers and staff, and all people over the age of 2.
- Only two lesson teachers will be present at the studio making use of our two largest rooms where a 6-foot distance can easily be kept between teacher and student.
- Two pianos will be provided in each room: one piano for Student use and one for Teacher use. Instruments are not to be shared between teacher and student. Student piano will be wiped down between uses.
- Our waiting room will remain closed. Only attending students will be permitted in the studio. If you would like to observe your child's lesson, we can arrange for you to observe via Zoom.
Will there be new protocols to follow when we visit Bucktown Music?
- A quick, no-touch temperature check will be required to enter the studio. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be asked to reschedule their lesson.
- Bucktown Music has 3 washing stations for hand washing. Students will be required to wash their hands before each lesson.
- Instructors will be required to wash hands or use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of their shift, and between each lesson.
- Hand sanitizer will be available at the front desk, at the front entrance and each teaching studio.
- Student pianos are to be sanitized with a sanitizer wipe after each use.
- Regular sanitization of high touch areas such as door knobs and counters are to be done every hour by front desk staff.
