Starting on the month of September the price for private music lessons will be $27 per 30-minute lesson. In an effort to make billing easier for everyone, the price for lessons will be $117 every month, regardless of it being a four or five week month. There is a $20 registration fee for new families or families who are starting again after a break.
If there is an official holiday scheduled in a certain month you will be credited $27 per missed lesson. Bucktown Music observes the following holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and winter break from December 24 through January 1.
Attendance Policy
Can I make up a lesson?
Yes, absolutely. Please email or call before 8:00AM to let us know you will be absent, and you may recoup your lesson in the event of the absence of another student. Regular attendance of lessons is necessary for progress and continuity. The tuition you pay reserves a specific lesson time with your teacher (example: Wednesdays from 4:30-5:00) each week, therefore, your lesson cannot be rescheduled. There is no reduction in tuition or credit issued for lessons missed or cancelled by the student, including for illness or vacation. We cannot guarantee that missed lessons will be made up. You may not recoup lessons that are not cancelled by 8:00am. All cancellations are handled through Bucktown Music administration (not the teacher.) Make-up opportunities are announced on our Facebook page, or you may email/call to check for availability.
What if I’m not sure which instrument I (or my child) will like?
You may enroll for a trial lesson on whatever instrument you choose. This gives you the opportunity to see our studio, meet the teacher, and ask any questions. We have instruments here to try, as well as lesson materials. At your trial lesson, the teacher will do a short assessment of your level and ask about your goals and expectations for music lessons. It is recommended that the parent sit in on a child’s trial lesson. There is no commitment or registration fee for registering for a trial lesson. Trial lessons are $25 and must be pre-paid.
